What We Believe

Historic Creeds

We affirm the following historic creeds of the Christian faith:

The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God,
The Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth,
And in Jesus Christ,
His only Son, our Lord,

Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried.
He descended into hell.

On the third day He rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
From there He will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
The holy catholic church,
The communion of saints,
The forgiveness of sins,
The resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.

Amen.

The Nicene Creed

We believe in one God the Father all-powerful, Maker of all things both seen and unseen. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Only-begotten, begotten from the Father, that is from the substance of the Father, God from God, Light from light, true God from true God, begotten not made, consubstantial with the Father, through whom all things came to be, both those in heaven and those in earth; For us humans and for our salvation he came down and became incarnate, became human, suffered and rose up on the third day, went up into the heavens, and is coming to judge the living and the dead.  And in the Holy Spirit.
